Japanese coach to help judokas in Orissa

Judokas of Orissa are all set to gain a lot out of benefit through a training programme to be conducted by Japanese coach Tomoya Kimoto here from June 6 to 26. The programme will be hosted by Orissa State Judo Association under the guidance of its president Priyabrat Patnaik. Thirty-year-old Kimoto has been in India since 2006 to help Judo Federation of India and Sports Authority of India (SAI) develop the standard of the country`s judokas under the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) programme of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). A 4th dan Kodokan certificate holder and a referee of the All Japan Jodo Federation, Kimoto has been imparting training judokas of West Bengal since March 2007.
